According to AARP, 90% of seniors want to remain in their own homes as they age. Despite this, many of them end up living in nursing homes and long-term care facilities. The Chore Program helps elderly and disabled people to remain at home by providing light housekeeping services, running errands, and even preparing meals on occasion. By supporting members of the community in their activities of daily living, Chore helps them save money and maintain a greater sense of independence.
Clients served by Chore service are accepted based on need and require a referral from a medical doctor. Currently, this program operates in Scott County. Funding for this program is provided by Community Services Block Grant (CSBG).
