Finance Director

The Appalachian Community Action and Development Agency, Inc. (AppCAA), a 501c3 non-profit, is seeking a Finance Director.  AppCAA offers a variety of programs focused on the areas of business & economic development, children’s programs, housing & community solutions and volunteer programs.  Each program is designed to help individuals and families at every stage of life. The Finance Director is responsible for all financial accounting activities of the multi-funded agency.  An integral part of the agency leadership, position responsibilities include:  financial management, day to day accounting functions, budgeting, cash flow management, fiscal reporting and compliance monitoring.  Must have fiscal year end/audit preparation experience.  Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, preferably with a background in non-profit accounting, and at least five years experience, preferably in non-profit accounting.  Competitive salary and benefits package available.  Employment contingent upon satisfactory drug screen driving and background check.  Email cover letter, resume and agency application can be emailed to Employment Application

AppCAA is looking for a Weatherization Crew Worker

Appalachian Community Action and Development Agency, Inc. (AppCAA) is searching for a Weatherization Crew Worker. The Weatherization Crew Worker will perform specific weatherization activities in accordance with installation standards of contracts between AppCAA and the Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD). Applicants must have the ability to safely use hand tools, possess basic carpentry skills, keep accurate records, the desire to work with low income individuals, ability to lift heavy objects, ability to crawl in small spaces, ability to climb ladders, be available for out of town travel to attend training and be willing to work in undesirable work conditions, when necessary. General Knowledge of Standard Work Specifications (SWS) for home energy upgrades is strongly preferred.  Excellent customer service, listening and problem-solving skills and a High School diploma/GED are required. Drug screening and background check required. Salary is $11/hour. This position is considered TEMP-to-HIRE with excellent benefits if hired as an AppCAA employee.
