Programs

Serving the Communities of Lee, Scott, and Wise Counties and Norton

AppCAA serves more than 7,000 individuals with housing repair/weatherization, housing counseling, financial literacy workshops, Imagination Library, rent/mortgage payments, and eyeglasses. AppCAA prepares taxes for over 500 individuals with the help of volunteers. All services provided are entirely free of charge for all applicants.

Financial

Throughout AppCAA’s work, we emphasize improving low-income individuals in Southwest Virginia’s economic status. To accomplish this, AppCAA has established robust and integrated interventions to help families reduce debt, improve credit, and save for life events.

Housing

AppCAA has multiple options available regarding housing-related issues within our service area. The largest of these is our weatherization program which helps to bring homes up to EnergyStar standards. We also have an indoor plumbing and rehabilitation program that can install or fix indoor plumbing. We can also provide minor house repairs through WDR funding which is not always available. These funds are used to help bring homes up to weatherization standards.

Who We Serve

AppCAA serves Lee, Scott, and Wise counties, as well as the City of Norton.

We also operate the Weatherization Assistance Program in Dickenson County.
